As you may have seen, Yesterday, the 26th November 2022, Was the Class 315 Commemorative event, featuring some of their last runs to shenfield as the class run out their final few weeks before soon finally bowing out after a Stirling 42 years of service.
The CEPG were pleased to be invited along as members of the fellow Class 315 Preservation Society, To help steward the days services. A huge group effort from the folks at the branch line society and other C315PS society members meant things ran incredibly smoothly, BLS ran a fantastic raffle, and the C315PS managed to sell out of merchandise. And of course we have to mention MTR staff for making sure this day was able to go ahead as planned.
We want to extend our thanks again to the C315PS and BLS for the team effort in stewarding the trains. It's no secret the 317 farewell was absolutely hectic, and we did our best despite a lack of staffing support. Thanks to these guys the day ran without a hitch and there were no reports of ASB or vandalism. A good show by all and I do want to thank everyone who travelled for being well behaved.
Let's keep our fingers crossed for the C315PS to get through the final Hurdles and get a full unit preserved!
-CEPG.
